The First Tee of Phoenix to add affiliate site at Lone Tree Golf Club in Chandler

Since 2003, The First Tee of Phoenix has focused on impacting and inspiring youth through the game of golf. Executive Director Hugh Smith announced the opening of the organization’s sixth programming site in the Valley – The First Tee of Phoenix at Lone Tree Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona. The new site at Lone Tree Golf Club opened October 27th, and joined the existing facilities located at South Mountain, Desert Mirage, Papago, Longbow and Falcon Dunes.

“Our Chapter has experienced rapid growth over the past few years,” said Smith. “That growth, combined with our partnership with The Thunderbirds, hosts of the Waste Management Phoenix Open, has allowed us to expand to what is now our sixth programming site and positively impact more youth in Maricopa County. Currently we are reaching over 85,000 youth each year and now with this relationship at Lone Tree, our impact will grow exponentially.”

Multi-level programming will be available year-round, both during the week and on weekends, and will include Special Outreach Programs in the community with Allied Organizations and The First Tee National School Program in the Chandler Unified School District.  Summer, fall and winter programming will be modified according to weather and school schedules. Programming at Lone Tree Golf Club will began October 31st, and is open to all youth ages 7-17 at a modest cost of $60 per year. Classes will be led by PGA Professional Eric Kulinna, the Site Coordinator for First Tee programming at Lone Tree, and adults who are interested in serving as a volunteer coach should contact The First Tee of Phoenix at 602.305.7655.
