When one thinks about a golf facility they tend to gravitate towards imagery of a lone 18 hole golf course. Well, ASU Karsten Golf Course has created a complete plethora of offerings from golf, to instruction, to club fitting, to dining and events that transcend golf and attract more people to this busy facility than those just donning clubs and golf shirts.

ASU Karsten Is The Place To Play
There is no denying that the Pete Dye-designed, links style golf at ASU Karsten takes center stage. Top PGA and LPGA TOUR professionals such as Phil Mickelson, Billy Mayfair, Grace Park and Anna Nordqvist have all sharpened their skills at this premier facility. Home to one of the strongest collegiate golf programs in the country, and managed by OB Sports, the Course serves up a challenging design that features Dye’s signature mounding, creative bunkering and green complexes – making proper club selection essential for low scoring. One round at ASU Karsten and one realizes quickly why the club has been honored as one of the Top 30 Collegiate courses in the country by Golfweek magazine.

ASU Karsten’s Trophy Room Restaurant Is The Place To Dine
One look at the Trophy Room’s busy lunch crowd shows you that the facility is also a bustling food and beverage hub. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, the Trophy Room Restaurant is sure to pleasantly surprise even the most seasoned foodies. Unlike typical golf course grub, the Trophy Room Chefs source out the finest local ingredients and use only the best purveyors available. Everything on the menu and in their kitchen is prepared with skill and love from scratch. Executive Chef Andrew Brosten (who prior to his ASU Karsten days worked under celebrity chef Beau MacMillan at the Sanctuary on Camelback) has a variety of delicious signature items, from his signature Boss Burger to French Toasted Muffins. The menu also features a variety of seasonal salads, signature sandwiches, and house made sides that won’t disappoint.

ASU Karsten Is The Place To Shop
Whether you are a “golden” Sun Devil fan or just shopping for one, you’ll always come out a winner at the ASU Karsten Golf Shop. The “Top 100” golf shop at the ASU Karsten Golf Course offers everything from stylish men’s and women’s ASU sportswear to the latest Pitchfork logo items. ASU Karsten Is The Place To Call Your Home Course
ASU Karsten also provides a number of unique opportunities for frequent players savings. Those who join the Champions Club receive the lowest rates available and a complimentary round of golf upon purchase of the card. But that’s just the tip of the pitch fork. They also receive preferred rates at all OB Sports golf properties in the Phoenix area including Raven Golf Club – Phoenix, Longbow Golf Club, Eagle Mountain Golf Club, to name a few, plus clubs in out-of-state destinations such as Las Vegas, Southern California and beyond. For golfers looking to take it up a notch, The Karsten Club is an annual membership program limited to only 25 individuals or corporations that offers a slew of benefits including unlimited golf, merchandise discounts, and season tickets to ASU football and basketball, among other perks.

It is during these events that ASU Karsten’s tournament staff acquires the skills to make all important group-golf events a success – large or small. In fact many local charity events have made their home at ASU Karsten as the event team has partnered with many charities and helped raise over $1,500,000 for ASU Athletics and hundreds of thousands of dollars in charitable funds for great causes. To that end ASU Karsten hosts complimentary special event planning seminars to show fundraisers how to raise more money using golf. Mark your calendars, as the next one is Tuesday, March 12th.

ASU Karsten Is The Place To Learn The Game
With its own twist on higher education, ASU Karsten teamed up with its namesake to present the PING Learning Center. There, much like their coed counterparts, golfers learn a little physics, videography, physical education, club fitting, nutrition and a lot of psychology. Leading the PING Learning Center faculty is Matt Trimble – considered to be one of the “Best teachers in State” according to his peers, as listed in Golf Digest. Along with, former All-American at ASU, Scott Watkins (who has been in the golf business for 31 years and is currently ranked 11th in Golf Digest’s rankings of the best teachers in Arizona). For those looking to “get fit” ASU’s Matt Phelps offers clubfitting services the “Karsten Way”. PING Certified, Phelps, uses state of the art Flight technology that combines highly technical data to ensure you have the proper fitting clubs. This tradition of excellence is bound to grow with the recent addition of Tim Mickelson, Phil’s younger brother, who is now the head golf coach of the Sun Devil’s men’s golf team.

Since 1989, ASU Karsten Golf Course has entertained golfers with a unique brand of links-style golf; filled with traditions that can only be formed over decades of excellence. But over the years, ASU Karsten, the “Home Of Champions” has created a diverse offering of amenities that appeal to all walks of life. So, whether you are looking to host an event, take a client out for that power lunch, or get into the game for the first time, ASU Karsten is the place to Learn, Play, Dine and More!
