If you are looking for a great weekend of golfing while escaping the heat of the desert, look no farther than attending the 4th annual Friends of Williams Aquatic Center Golf Tournament in the tall cool pines of Elephant Rocks Golf Course in Williams, Arizona set for Saturday June 8, 2013; tee time 7:30am.

The Friends of the Williams Aquatic Center is a non-profit organization, which is working with the City of Williams to increase the time that the pool is open. Presently the pool is open for 3 months out of 12, due to the recession putting other demands on the city budget. The goal of this organization is to increase pool time to at least 6 out of 12 months. The city pool is used not only by Williams a city of approximately 3,000, but by all of the surrounding communities.  When open the pool is used for swimming lessons, aerobics, lap swimming, and therapeutic sessions. It plays an important part of the citizen’s health and water safety.

The 4th Annual FWAC Golf Tournament, two man scramble, features a $10,000 Hole-in-One contest, Closest to the Pin, door prizes and a Deep Pit BBQ lunch plus much more. Early registration (May 12th) is only $80 per golfer. You can register up until June 2nd.

Elephant Rocks Golf Course is located in historic Williams, Arizona, approximately 30 miles west of Flagstaff on I-40 at Exit 161. The elevation of 6800 feet above sea level means that the temperature will be approximately 20 to 25 degrees lower than the deserts.
