On July 9-10, 2013, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona returned to the prestigious Forest Highlands Golf Club – Meadow Course, for its annual Boys and Girls State Junior Golf Championship. Alec Bone and Saki Iida claimed their titles as the Boys and Girls State Junior Champions.
The tournament hosted an incredible field of players, who in turn played some impressive golf. First round leaders for the Boys included Michael Feagles, Hayden Webb, and Alec Bone all tied at 4-under, 68. For the Girls, the two first round leaders included defending champion Saki Iida and Natassja Meredith who both posted a 1-over, 73.
As the second round of play progressed, it was clear that the difficulty of the Meadow Course at Forest Highlands Golf Club would get the best of many players in the field. In the end, Alec Bone and Saki Iida claimed their titles as the Boys and Girls State Junior Champions. Alec Bone finished with a two day total of 7-under, 137, and Saki Iida finished with a two day total of 2-over, 146.
