Waste Management Phoenix Open sets single-day attendance record – 189,722

Saturday’s 3rd round attendance of 189,722 set an all-time single-day record in Waste Management Phoenix Open and professional golf history.

The previous single-day attendance mark of 179,022 was set last year (2013), also during the 3rd round. This marks the third consecutive year that the tournament has set an attendance record during the third round.

At 189,722 the TPC Scottsdale was Arizona’s 8th most populated “city” on Saturday and close to 28,000 people larger than the City of Tempe (161,719).

The Waste Management Phoenix Open and host Thunderbirds have raised more than $86 million for local charities in the tournament’s 79 year history, with more than $60 million generated since 2004.
