OB Sports Golf Management appoints Dennis Palmer as General Manager of Arizona National Golf Club

OB Sports Golf Management announced the appointment of Dennis Palmer as the new General Manager of Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Arizona. His duties include the oversight of facility-wide operations such as regular play, merchandising, group golf events, food and beverage, agronomy and staffing.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in 1979 at the University of Arizona, Palmer became a member of the Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) in 1983. Over the course of more than 30 years in the golf industry, he has worked at various clubs including Elgin Country Club in Elgin, IL.; Royal Kaanapali Golf Club in Maui, HI; Eastwood Golf Club in Ft. Myers, FL.; Punta Gorda Country Club in Punta Gorda, FL. and Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy, FL. In 2000, Palmer and his family moved back to Tucson where he worked at various Southern Arizona clubs including the Links at Continental Ranch, Tubac Golf Resort & Spa and most recently La Paloma Country Club. Dennis is a Quarter Century Club member of the PGA and was named “Golf Professional of the Year” in 2012.

The 18-hole golf course at Arizona National Golf Club was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 1996 along the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains and Coronado National Forest. Jones took full advantage of this one-of-a-kind location by following the property’s rugged natural surroundings loaded with mesquite-lined arroyos, Saguaro Cactus, rock outcroppings, and uniquely, nine natural springs. Along the way, the diverse 6,785-yard layout presents classic desert-golf challenges. The club also is known for excellent services and facilities including: pro shop; teaching and instructional center; practice facilities; sports bar and restaurant with indoor/outdoor dining overlooking the golf course, lake and unspoiled Sonoran Desert. Among other awards and accolades, Golf Magazine ranked Arizona National among the 30 “Best Public Golf Courses in Arizona” in 2014. To learn more about Arizona National Golf Club, visit www.arizonanationalgolfclub.com or call 520.749.4089.
