First Tee of Phoenix adds new East Valley location

The First Tee of Phoenix Executive Director, Hugh Smith, announced that the organization will open a new programming site at Augusta Ranch Golf Club, which becomes the Valley’s 13th First Tee location.

“Adding this location is extremely exciting for the First Tee of Phoenix,” said Smith. “In addition to Longbow, East Valley junior golfers now have another convenient place to work on their golf skills as well as the many life skills that accompany the game.”

SWSPGA President and Augusta Ranch owner Don Rea couldn’t be happier to have the First Tee of Phoenix at his course saying, “The SWSPGA and the First Tee of Phoenix have had a wonderful relationship for years and I am both excited and proud to host a programming location at Augusta Ranch.”

The grand opening ceremony was held on Saturday, September 20 at Augusta Ranch Golf Club.

The First Tee of Phoenix is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by The Thunderbirds for the purpose of providing affordable access to golf and golf learning facilities for young people in Maricopa County from all walks of life, particularly those who otherwise might not have an opportunity to play. As the largest Chapter in The First Tee Network impacting over 100,000 youth annually, The First Tee of Phoenix offers classes, special monthly family events and tournaments as part of its programming. Now with 13 locations in the Valley – South Mountain, Desert Mirage, Papago, Falcon Dunes, Longbow, Lone Tree, Cave Creek, Encanto, Maryvale, Augila, Palm Valley and Augusta Ranch – The First Tee of Phoenix programming sites serve at conveniently located courses for participants to learn valuable life skills and character lessons through creative activities and instructional programs that incorporate the fundamental teachings of golf.
