SWSGA presents ten sets of new golf clubs to new junior golfers from the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Club and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona

The Southwest Seniors Golf Association (SWSGA) is committed to deliver a great senior golf experience and also be great ambassadors for the game of Golf.

Who remembers receiving their first set of golf clubs? At their event held on May 18, 2015, with funds raised for the Les Wimp Memorial Event and the help of Merchants of Golf, the SWSGA presented ten sets of new golf clubs to new junior golfers from the LPGA/USGA Girls Golf Club and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. Present were the Executive Directors of each organization, Cori Alberdi and Scott McNevin, respectively, along with family members of the juniors ages 6-12.

Les Wimp, who was a longtime golf professional in Arizona, had a passion to bring new kids to the game and for years, in his memory, the SWSGA has conducted a scramble event for juniors at a local club. This year the Board of Directors elected instead to make this impactful donation on behalf of all members of the SWSGA. They look forward to carrying on this tradition in honor of Les and hope you will enthusiastically join them in this effort.

The SWSGA was organized in 1978 to conduct a monthly senior golf event for professionals and amateurs with single digit golf handicaps. The events, held on a Monday at many of the finest golf facilities in Arizona, include a team format of one low gross and one low net score of the foursome plus individual low gross and low net competitions within several age groups.
