Verde River Golf & Social Club launches

Formerly known as Tegavah, Shea Homes relaunched the nearly 10-year-old golf club to become the centerpiece of the new Trilogy®at Verde River community

The new Verde River Golf & Social Club is located in the northeast corner of the Valley of the Sun. The club will become the social and recreational hub for Trilogy®at Verde River, Shea Homes’ newest Trilogy master-planned resort community.

“We are thrilled to begin the journey towards the ultimate vision of Verde River Golf & Social Club,” said Levi Shill, General Manager of Trilogy at Verde River. “We’re starting with a wonderful community surrounded by gorgeous mountain views, Sonoran Desert and a very solid golf course. The improvements on the horizon will only make it even more attractive for golfers and residents alike.”

Verde River Golf & Social Club will eventually transition to a private club reserved exclusively for members and their guests. However, until then, public play is welcome.

Memberships
Those interested in becoming part of Verde River Golf & Social Club can reserve a Membership now. Doing so provides preferred initiation-fee options, preferred dues, and preferred access, all knowing that the true payoff will come in the next few years when the club grows its membership to a point when it can convert to fully private. The expectation is that this transition will take place over the course of 3 to 5 years, but membership sales and other factors will ultimately determine the final date.

Golf Club Renovation
Though the golf course will remain open for daily-fee play through April 2016, PGA TOUR professional, Ryder Cup Captain and nearby resident Tom Lehman is overseeing renovations to the golf course, which was originally designed by Ken Kavanaugh in 2007. The accomplished design team of Lehman and longtime partner at Lehman Design Group, Chris Brands, will tackle this project with the same passion that has already produced a number of top-ranked designs including several in Arizona such as Encanterra Country Club, Omni Tucson National-Sonoran and Verrado Golf Club. They will be particularly focused on improving the green complexes and recapturing some of the natural arroyos that have become overgrown with time, in addition to ensuring that the spectacular sightlines to the nearby landmarks such as Four Peaks and the Mazatzal Mountains are incorporated into the course of play. Lehman will also reroute a few of the golf holes to enhance the strategy and flow of the playing experience. Work is already underway with more to follow in 2016.

New Clubhouse
Also in 2016, construction will begin on a new 30,000-square-foot clubhouse crafted by renowned designer Bing Hu of H&S International. Hu’s past work includes award-winning designs at Silverleaf, DC Ranch, Encanterra and numerous others. The interior design is the work of Design Lines of Denver, Colorado, a group with a roster of similarly impressive clients throughout the U.S.

Club Amenities
The social club, operated by Scottsdale-based BlueStar Resort & Golf, will include everything discerning private club members could want and more. Proposed amenities include: signature restaurant; indoor/outdoor bar; classic neighborhood café and gourmet market; full fitness facility; men’s and ladies’ locker rooms; spa facilities; resort pool; tennis and pickleball courts; sports shop; event center and more.

The community is also surrounded by a host of exceptional natural amenities such as Tonto National Forest, McDowell Mountain Regional Park, Mazatzal Mountains, Four Peaks and the Verde River. These special places provide fertile ground for outdoor enthusiasts throughout the community to join together and enjoy the many outdoor recreational activities found in the Sonoran Desert, from hiking, walking and biking to fishing, camping and boating.
