Nine Troon facilities to host Drive, Chip and Putt Championships

Troon,® the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, is pleased to announce that nine of its affiliated facilities were selected to host local or sub-regional qualifying events for the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship.

Conducted by the United States Golf Association (USGA), Masters Tournament and the PGA of America, the 2017 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship is a complimentary youth golf development initiative that welcomes boys and girls ages 7-15 in four separate age categories. Juniors compete in all three skills (Drive, Chip & Putt), earning points within each skill with the overall champion determined from the highest number of accumulated points.

Local qualifying will take place throughout all 50 states from May – August, 2016. Top performers at the local level advance through sub-regional and regional qualifiers. The top 80 performers (40 boys and 40 girls) will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on Sunday, April 2, the eve of the 2017 Masters Tournament.
