Charity golf event to raise funds for local single parents battling cancer

Blackstone Country Club will host the Sixth Annual Singleton Moms Charity Golf Tournament, which benefits Singleton Moms, a local organization supporting single parents who are battling cancer, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11 at 12101 W. Blackstone Drive in Peoria.

An awards luncheon with silent auction will follow the tournament at 2 p.m. at Blackstone Country Club.

Golf Digest’s first “Architect of the Year” Jim Engh designed the 7,089-yard golf course and created it for the avid golfers who love the game and seek a challenging and unique golf experience. The 18-hole, par 72 championship course was named for the volcanic rock indigenous for the area. Blackstone Country Club’s spectacular setting features a dramatic terrain of Sonoran desert, deep channels, sheer rock faces and an elevation change on every hole.
