The First Tee of Phoenix and Wells Fargo hosted a youth golf clinic with PGA Tour professional Trey Mullinax for more than 30 youth golfers in Phoenix on January 30th.

The event was part of Wells Fargo and The First Tee of Phoenix’s national partnership to encourage youth development in local communities. The event focused on youth life skills and introduced the 2019 Succeeding Together program.

Mullinax joined the PGA Tour in 2016, after playing collegiate golf at the University of Alabama, where he was an All-American and led the team to two NCAA Championships. He won his first Web.com Tour event in 2016 and tied for ninth place in the 2017 U.S. Open. Last year, among all players, Mullinax was ranked second in driving distance on the PGA Tour, behind Rory McIIroy.

The program provides an opportunity for students to win a trip for two to this year’s Wells Fargo Championship, which takes place April 29 through May 5, 2019, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and play in the event’s Pro-Am alongside the PGA Tour player of their choice.

Through collaboration with Wells Fargo, The First Tee and the PGA, youth in local communities are provided with an opportunity to interact with PGA Tour players and learn valuable lessons to help them succeed in life.

The 2019 Succeeding Together program invites youth to submit an essay about the importance of having and being a part of a “Go-To-Team,” a core life lesson of The First Tee of Phoenix that fosters partnership and teamwork in all areas of life. The program is open to youth across the country and allows students to express how The First Tee of Phoenix and its programs have made a positive impact in their lives.
