Sitting in the midst of virtually seven canyons of red rock formations in scenic northern Arizona’s Sedona, a “Gem” shines in this private retreat, nestled within 100,000 acres of protected National forest, offering an awe inspiring round of exquisite golf. Designed by Tom Weiskopf, opening in 2003, Seven Canyons has been one of the most photographed golf courses in the United States.

GolfWeek awarded Seven Canyons “America’s Best 2006” Top100 Courses. USA Weekend Magazine stated it to be “The Most Beautiful Place in America”. In 2007, Seven Canyons was among “GolfWeek’s Best Residential Courses” and GolfWeek’s “Best of 2007” as well as Golf Digest’s “America’s 50 Greatest Golf Retreats”. This list just goes on and on.

Designed in the classic sense by former British Open and US Senior Open champion Tom Weiskopf, Seven Canyons took a page from the past. Weiskopf designed the 6,746 yard, Par 70 layout to play like the classic courses of old, where shot-making is the key. “The player must think his way around this golf course. It demands precise play from the tee, with a mix of long and short par 4s, challenging par 3s and only two par 5s (one on each nine),” stated Weiskopf.

Weiskopf placed a premium on exceptional shot-making with small greens, narrow landing areas, classic-style bunkering, mature trees, natural water features and constant changing elevations. And, he made the course walkable, to the delight of the game’s purists.

Located with a dramatic backdrop of red mountains, “The Practice Park” features 20,000 sq. ft. of teeing area with 25 hitting stations, a 5,000 sq. ft. practice green, four target greens and chipping area with a practice bunker. This is now the new site to the John Jacobs Golf Schools. Sitting atop all this splendor of quiet and peacefulness is the Range House, which accommodates scenic patio and indoor seating for their restaurant with breath-taking views perfect for unforgettable wedding backdrops and entertainment after the ceremony, group outings, social gatherings and executive meetings.
