Sedona Golf Resort’s head golf professional, Gary Pearce, raises $6000 for Camp Soaring Eagle in Arizona

The Head Golf Professional at Sedona Golf Resort, Gary Pearce, completed the P.F. Chang’s marathon at the swift pace of three hours, twenty minutes and fifty five seconds. His finish earned him 18th place in his age division (50-54) and 382 overall amongst the 5110 runners in this annual Arizona marathon. However, Gary’ biggest accomplishment that day was charitable in nature. Through pledges leading up to the marathon, he raised $6000 for Camp Soaring Eagle in Sedona. The amount raised will provide twelve scholarships to send children to the camp that provides children with serious and life threatening illnesses a special camp experience where they can forget about their illnesses and just be kids in a medically safe environment.

Through a professional relationship that had developed between Pearce and Max James, the founder of Camp Soaring Eagle, Gary was struck by the Camp’s vision and Mr. James and his CSE staff’s mission. Currently there are over 350,000 children in the southwest living with fatal or life threatening diseases. Camp Soaring Eagle serves children from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah all completely free of charge to the campers and their families.
