THE OLD LINKS COURSE

St. Andrews

by C.S. Boyer

St. Andrews is truly the old links course
that symbolizes golf as a wonderful source
of character and beauty with pot bunkers deep
which provided shelter for grazing sheep.

So rich in tradition of Ancient and Royal
that, to all of those who remain so loyal,
this course is loved like bells that chime
which makes it a precious legend in time.

Great players like Woods and Watson were there
showed their skills and demonstrated flair
to take the trophy and capture the crown
the cherished claret known world renown.

Its rolling terrain and undulating greens
provided the backdrop for famous scenes
of many championships each one so dear
that we’ll always remember year after year.

The stately manors that surround this place
enrich St. Andrews with a special grace
and their Tudor style of Scottish lore
will adorn this course forevermore.
