Blackstone Country Club reaches golf membership milestone, offers new incentive program

As private golf clubs nationwide continue to struggle in this economy, Blackstone Country Club in Peoria has reached a milestone having signed up its 100th golf club member.

“Last year we restructured our golf program to make it easier to join and sold 50 memberships,” said Melissa Barton, Blackstone membership director. “Judging by the number of calls we receive daily, there is every reason to anticipate that 2011 will be as successful as 2010.”

With the increase in members, Blackstone has enhanced its membership opportunities to include expanded hours of the Hacienda Clubhouse dining room, a greater variety of group fitness classes and other member benefits.

To make it easier to join the club, a new incentive program offers a payment option in which new members can pay one-half of the golf initiation fee when they join, with the other half due by Dec. 31, 2011. Equity and non-equity golf membership initiation fees range from $7,500 to $15,000.

If new members choose to pay the entire initiation fee in one payment, they will receive an incentives package consisting of: Equity Membership – One month of complimentary dues – One complimentary dinner, not including alcohol – 12 guest passes to be used by first-time guests to Blackstone – Two complimentary golf lessons – Two complimentary personal training sessions

Non-Equity Membership – One month of complimentary dues – One complimentary dinner, not including alcohol – Six guest passes to be used by first-time guests to Blackstone.

Residents can also purchase an equity social membership that entitles them to the use of all club facilities such as the Hacienda clubhouse with its pools, restaurants, fitness center, tennis courts and event lawns, excluding golf. That initiation fee is $2,500.

A real estate purchase is not necessary to become a golf or social member.
