The leading Senior Pro-Am Tour in the Southwest

The Southwest Seniors Golf Association (SWSGA) was established in 1978 by Gene Lesch, Bill Johnson and Jack Morrison. They organized a Senior Pro-Am to be played once a month in an A-B-C-D team format.

Players were senior PGA professionals and amateurs 50 years of age and older.  Amateurs were awarded merchandise prizes for low net and low gross by age groups, while the professionals played for cash prizes, also in age groups.

In 2000, a steering committee composed of senior professionals and amateurs became the directors of the SWSGA, with the direct purpose of maintaining the ideals originally put forth by its founders.

SWSGA membership is open to PGA professionals, invited professionals, amateurs (with a handicap of 14 or less) and 50 years of age or older.
