Fundraising in a down economy is difficult, but members of The Country Club at DC Ranch successfully raised $45,000 for Susan G. Komen on Sunday, March 13th.  Decked out in pink, the day included golf, dinner and a silent auction.  There were 100 participants who generously opened their pocketbooks for this good cause. The Club elected to have these dollars remain in the Phoenix community to benefit women who cannot afford mammograms or breast cancer treatment. They felt it was important to keep these funds local.

This was the 10th year that The Country Club at DC Ranch has partipated in Rally for the Cure. The event was Co-chaired by Maxine Urheim and Janice Werz.

Rally for the Cure® is a grassroots program that works to spread awareness about breast health and breast cancer in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. The mission is to empower people to join the fight against breast cancer by educating their friends, family and community on the importance of early detection through an activity they are passionate about.

Located at the foothills of the McDowell Mountains on land that once housed a cattle ranch in the early1900s, at the center of The Country Club at DC Ranch is an expansive hacienda-style clubhouse that hosts an unprecedented calendar of social events and offers an exclusive, yet inviting setting, to gather with family, friends and colleagues.

Outside the clubhouse lies a traditional championship golf course designed by the famed Tom Lehman and John Fought, draped in sweeping views of the desert.
