World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship tickets launched for 2012 event

Fans will have access to new, closer parking next year; tournament continues complimentary kids, military admission policy

World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship tournament officials announced the launch of general admission tickets for next year’s tournament, giving fans ample time and opportunity to ensure they have a front-row seat to the February 2012 event. The top 64 players in the world of golf will return to The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, for the Accenture Match Play Championship, February 20-26, 2012.

Tickets purchased in advance offer significant savings over gate prices.

Fans can also take advantage of a special ticket offer that is available only online and includes parking and golf at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain, for only $249. The “Golf Pack” includes:Two Good-Any-One-Day tickets to the event; One Parking Pass (good any one day) to Lot T3; Two rounds of golf at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain (Valid Oct. 1, 2011 – Jan. 31, 2012).

Tournament officials also announced that they will debut a new general parking lot, located at the base of Dove Mountain Boulevard and Tangerine. Fans will only have a 10-minute shuttle ride to the tournament, compared to the 30-minute shuttle from the previous lot, which was on Tangerine closer to I-10.

As has been the case in years past, youth 18 and younger are admitted free to the Accenture Match Play Championship when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Additionally, complimentary tickets are available for all active, retired and reserve military and their dependents. To register for tickets, visit www.worldgolfchampionshisps.com. A valid military I.D. will be required at the gate for admission.

New in 2012, and in conjunction with the PGA TOUR’s new policy, fans are permitted to bring their cell phones to the tournament. Calls are only permitted in designated areas; no video recording at any time; and no photographs after Tuesday.

The Accenture Match Play Championship, which is the first of four World Golf Championships of the season, has been played in the Tucson area since 2007 and at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain since 2009.
