Papago’s facelift turns one this golf season

Winter in the Valley of the Sun boasts cooler temperatures and perfect golf playing conditions. The 2010 golf season also brings with it the first year anniversary of Papago Golf Courses’ multi-million dollar facelift.

Papago opened to rave reviews and received several accolades in the first 12 months after the restoration project. It hosted the 2009 J Golf Phoenix LPGA International in March, and was recently ranked among Golfweek’s Top 50 municipal golf courses in the country.

In a continued effort to enhance the overall look and feel on the course, Papago added 68 new mature trees, with 90 additional trees being planted in the next few months.

As last year’s renovations to the course have begun to mature it is easy to see why so many golfers call Papago home.
