Team Palm Valley captures 2011 TaylorMade OB Sports National Team Championship presented by adidas Golf

‘Team Palm Valley’ overcame a four shot deficit to capture the 2011 TaylorMade OB Sports National Team Championship presented by adidas Golf. The Palm Valley Team shot a final round 201 to leap past the team from Longbow Golf Club and take the coveted title. Palm Valley’s 406 total (205-201) was five better than Longbow’s 411 total (201-210). The defending champions from We-Ko-Pa Golf Club finished in third place with a total team score of 415 (209-206).

In total 168 national qualifiers participated in the event, representing nineteen OB Sports affiliated golf clubs from throughout the United States. Each team fields an eight-person team (grouped together in four, two-person teams) made up of seven qualifiers from the club and the club’s golf professional. “The cup” is awarded for the overall TaylorMade/OB Sports Team Championship: each of the teams post its best three, two-person-team net scores, across both days of competition, and the team with the lowest net score is crowned overall champion.  This 36-hole national event was played concurrently over two courses: Longbow Golf Club and Raven Golf Club – Phoenix.

Past TaylorMade OB Sports team champions include We-Ko-Pa-Golf Club (2010), High Meadow Ranch Golf Club (2009), Tijeras Creek Golf Club (2008) and Sandia Golf Club (2007).
