4th Annual Marilynn Smith LPGA Charity Golf Classic set for October

World Golf Hall of Famer, Betsy King will be this year’s special honoree

The  4th Annual Marilynn Smith LPGA Charity Golf Classic will be played in October, 2012, at the Tuscany Falls Golf Course at Pebble Creek in Goodyear, Arizona. The tournament benefits the Marilynn Smith Golf Scholarship Fund managed by the LPGA Foundation.

With the help of many, including A.B. Farrington Foundation, Ping, Dottie Pepper, Titleist, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Phil Mickelson, Jane Crafter, Discover Tee, Rolex, Adams Golf, Nike, Piranka Golf, Anheuser Busch, Yar Golf and volunteers from the Pebble Creek community, including Bill Barnard and his staff, last year’s event netted $55,000. Ten $10,000 scholarships were given to help young women attend college.

The 8am shotgun, scramble format is open to men and women amateurs. The $200 entry fee includes golf with an LPGA player, breakfast on the run, an awards luncheon with live and silent auctions and a fabulous goodie bag.

This year’s special honoree is Betsy King, World Golf Hall of Famer with 34 LPGA victories including six major championships. Come meet this special lady.
