Since 1995, this Gary Panks and David Graham designed course continues to awe with its spectacular course conditions due to the oversight and vision of Director of Maintenance Eddi Wahlborgg and his outstanding team. Lush fairways, slick greens, bunkers galore, mountain vistas, elevation changes, water hazards, Georgia Pines and entertaining wildlife make for the perfect round. And, all of this within 5 miles of Sky Harbor Airport so you can make it your first round upon arrival in the Valley of the Sun or your last round prior to departure. Or, if you’re a local, it’s an easy choice to become your “club”.
Raven Golf Club Phoenix has been recognized among the nation’s top daily fee golf properties with accolades such as: 4.5 stars by Golf Digest, “#5 Golf Course in the State” by Arizona Magazine, “#1 Guest Service in North America” and most recently “Best Golf Course” with the Phoenix New Times 2018 Best of Phoenix.
Practice facility extrodinaire is the description for the Club’s expansive driving range, large putting green with music to enhance your practice time, along with the 36 snack bar at your finger tips. Plus The Club Fix – a club fitting service program designed to help golfers of all levels achieve their maximum performance by using state of the art Trackman Golf technology to custom fit clubs to each golfer’s swing through expert fitting. All to enhance your golfing experience under the shadow of South Mountain.
Hole #5, Par 4, 324 yards – This is reachable by long hitters but getting there requires carrying large front and fairway bunkers. Valley golfers have a love hate relationship with this hole and wonder if it is a prank by designers Gary Panks and David Graham. No, but it is a high risk and reward hole whenever, from wherever you go for the green. The South Mountain rising above the tree line makes a postcard portrait.
Hole #18, Par 4, 428 yards – This is one of the best closing holes in the valley! All tee boxes require clearing a bushy transition area and distinct bunkers on the far left require accurate yardage for avoidance. The far right side is forested with an approaching lake that closely guards the green. Cascading water features are lovely but onerous with miscalculated shots. Flowers and a duck flotilla guide golfers back to the beautifully lit clubhouse under the sunset on a late afternoon round.
Grill 36 Restaurant is ready after the round or for business lunches, networking mixers, and happy hours 3-6 Mon-Fri with drink and appetizer specials The Raven Phoenix is a popular venue for charity tournaments and a premier setting for weddings with a ceremony site positioned with a view of Camelback Mountain and an air conditioned pavilion for all the festivities.
