Longbow Golf Club to host the Longbow Golf Fest on January 30, 2010

First 100 attendees receive a complimentary ticket to the Waste Management Phoenix Open

Longbow Golf Club will host the sixth annual Longbow Golf Fest on Saturday, January 30, 2010, beginning at 9 a.m. This family-oriented community golf event features a variety of golf-related activities geared towards novice and expert golfers alike. And as an added bonus, the first 100 people in attendance will receive a complimentary ticket to the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open, February 22-28, 2010.

Among the offerings, golfers will be able to test (and purchase at preferred prices) the latest equipment from major golf equipment manufacturers such as PING, Nike, Titleist, Cobra, TaylorMade, Adams and others.  Longbow’s PGA professional staff will provide complimentary golf instructionals throughout the day. Plus, a complimentary golf clinic geared towards junior golfers will be hosted by OB Sports Golf Academy’s instruction team, Jeff Fisher and Stacie Bryan. This particular clinic will provide a great way for parents and prospective students to learn more about the academy’s innovative instruction philosophy that can help them reach their potential within the game of golf.

“We are looking forward to hosting the sixth annual Longbow Golf Fest,” said Jay Larscheid, general manager for Longbow Golf Club. “The point of the event is to engage people in the game in a way, other than the traditional round of golf, that leads to an enhanced appreciation, participation and enjoyment of the game.”

A raffle featuring great prizes (and benefiting junior golf) will be held throughout the day. Last year’s event raised much needed funds for area junior golf programs. Food and beverage specials will be offered including $1 hot dogs and $1 drafts. The club will also sponsor a food drive benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank.  Attendees simply donate a non-perishable food item and receive 2-for-1 certificates for golf at Longbow Golf Club.
