Mesquite Grille at McDowell Mountain Golf Club appoints Mark Hamilton Executive Chef

McDowell Mountain Golf Club and its new Mesquite Grille recently appointed Mark Hamilton as Executive Chef. The new Mesquite Grille is the new restaurant and wine bistro that will be the centerpiece of the new McDowell Mountain Golf Club Clubhouse.

Mark brings with him a wealth of culinary knowledge and professional experiences. Prior to joining the team at McDowell Mountain he served as the executive chef at The Rim Club in Payson, Arizona. His first position in Arizona was as club executive chef for 12 years at Desert Mountain Club where he directed all restaurant operations on the property. Hamilton’s decorated career also includes serving as chef at Sutton Place Gourmet in Bethesda, Maryland; Panevino Restorante in Alexandra, Virginia; Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA; Palace Cafe’ in New Orleans, LA; and Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, MI.

“The Mesquite Grille is going to offer casual dining in an upscale yet comfortable environment,” stated Hamilton.

Originally from Traverse City, Michigan, Hamilton is a longtime member of the American Culinary Federation. He started his career at Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City Michigan and his midwest roots provided influence on his culinary offerings to come at Mesquite Grille.

Opening in late January, the new clubhouse and Mesquite Grille at McDowell Mountain Golf Club will expand upon the dining opportunities, provide more space for the clubs growing wedding and special event followings and ultimately to position the clubhouse as a gathering place for the community, golfing and non-golfing guests. Additional clubhouse features include a large covered outdoor dining terrace, indoor/outdoor bar, upgraded restroom facilities, new locker rooms and enclosure of the existing event space for larger group gatherings for any season. The materials are all native and in keeping with not only the McDowell Mountain Ranch neighborhood, but also the desert environs of Scottsdale. One of the most dramatic features of this new clubhouse will be how the new facility will take full advantage of the spectacular vistas towards the West and the dramatic views of Scottsdale and the Valley of Sun.

The new clubhouse facility will add to what has been an extensive facility enhancement program that started in 2011 with enhancements to the golf course itself, led by golf course architect Randy Hackenkemper.
