Seton Catholic Prep freshman named winner of RR Donnelly LPGA Founders Cup “Caddie for a Day” contest

Kailey Fraher, a 14-year-old freshman at Seton Catholic Prep and member of the Sentinels varsity golf team, was the lucky winner of the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup “Caddie for a Day” contest.  Fraher’s essay was selected from more than 100 entries that were submitted during the month of February, and as the winner she got the opportunity to caddie for LPGA Tour professional Katie Futcher during the Wednesday Pro-Am.

“Katie is who I look up to on the LPGA Tour and she is the one who made me realize that nothing is impossible in life,” Fraher said in her essay. “You just have to strive to be the best that you can be and then go a little bit further and you can reach your goals.”

The Pro-Am was played on Wednesday, March 13, prior to the start of the four-day tournament that was played March 14-17 at Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.

“We had a number of fantastic essays submitted, but Kailey’s essay really stood out from the rest,” said RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup Tournament Director Chris Garrett. “This is a unique opportunity, especially for a young, aspiring LPGA Tour player like Kailey, so were excited to award her this opportunity.”
