Golf Tournament to help children with serious illnesses attend camp May 4th at Legend Trail

Spring is in the air and children across the state are beginning to dream about summer camp: swimming, horseback riding, late night talks with cabin mates and campfires. For children who suffer with chronic and serious illnesses, camp is only something they can dream about. Due to their medical conditions they are unable to participate in traditional children’s activities, especially summer camp.

Thanks to generous supporters and the Camp Soaring Eagle Foundation, 1500 seriously ill children and members of their family will have the opportunity to experience the magic of camp. The Camp Soaring Eagle Foundation provides year round medically supervised camping programs for children age 6 to 18 with serious illnesses all free of charge to the campers and their families.

To help raise the necessary funds to give these children experiences of a lifetime, Mercedes Benz of Arrowhead and Jeff Lane are sponsoring the Tee It Up For Children’s Laughter Golf Tournament. The tournament is Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Legend Trail Golf Club in Scottsdale. Registration opens at 11:30 AM with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. The format is a two person shamble. Registration is $150 per single and $250 per twosome and includes greens fees, BBQ dinner, prizes and entry into the European Vacation Raffle. Register On-Iine at www.CampSoaringEagle.org or call Jennifer Perry at 928.284.9393.

”Camp Soaring Eagle is about relationships, laughter, magic and wonder,” states Jeff Lane, Internet Sales Manager of Mercedes Benz of Arrowhead. “The opportunity to help seriously ill children and their families to find peace and a sense of wonder moved us to help support the camp. It just made sense to us. As Sir Winston Churchill said, ‘We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.’”
