Blake Cannon and Yesong Han win 19th Annual JGAA Thunderbird Invitational

Guess and Su capture the 13-14 Divisions

Blake Cannon, of Scottsdale, fired rounds of 72-69=141 to capture the Boys 15-18 Division at the 19th Annual JGAA Thunderbird Invitational at Papago Golf Course last month. In the Girls 15-18 Division, Yesong Han, of Chandler shot 73-74=147 to take the victory. In the Boys 13-14 Division, Jake Guess, of Mesa, won with scores of 70-74=144. Kelly Su, of Scottsdale, took the Girls 13-14 title with rounds of 80-79=159. Thanks to the Thunderbirds for sponsoring the event, and Papago Golf Course for hosting the championship.

Cannon, who will be playing golf at Arizona State University this fall, fired a 3-under 33 on his back-9 on on the final day, which included a birdie on the 14th hole and an eagle 3 on the par 5, 15th hole. Anthony Quezada, of Phoenix, had rounds of 71-73=144 to finish alone in 2nd place. Girls 15-18 Champion Yesong Han, was steady and consistent en route to her victory. Han will be playing golf at Colorado State this fall. Mikayla Harmon, of Gilbert, finished in 2nd place with rounds of 74-74=148. Harmon will be playing golf at Arizona State University this fall.
