Military servicemen in Kuwait swing away with golf equipment sent by OB Sports and Ship Sticks

A group of servicemen and women stationed in Kuwait recently received a care package stuffed with golf clubs, golf bags and golf balls – courtesy of OB Sports Golf Management and Ship Sticks. OB Sports gathered donated golf clubs, range balls and golf bags from a number of Arizona courses under their management including ASU Karsten Golf Course, Tatum Ranch Golf Club and Eagle Mountain Golf Club as well as personal donations from each firm’s corporate team. The clubs were then shipped via Ship Sticks to serviceman and women stationed in Camp Buerhing, Kuwait.

“The idea was hatched when we received a message on ASU Karsten’s Facebook page from Staff Sergeant Joseph Serafini, a golfer who was stationed in Kuwait,” stated Phil Green, Chief Operating Officer of OB Sports. “He created a makeshift driving range, and they were hitting balls with an old beat up 8 iron, an old driver with a handful of golf balls. So, we gathered a bunch of items and reached out to Ship Sticks, who quickly agreed to send all of it to the troops.”

“Every day we ship clubs around the world for golfers traveling for business or leisure, so it was very rewarding, this time, to do what we do for the troops,” stated Nicholas Coleman, Ship Sticks Chief Executive Officer.  “We were happy to work with OB Sports on this humble yet meaningful gesture.”
