The 2014 Winn Grips Heather Farr Classic hosted by Longbow Golf Club was a shootout from start to finish. Golfers took advantage of the slightly cooler weather to heat up the competition, scoring low right out of the gates. The American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) event is a 54-hole tournament held on the par-71 Longbow Golf Club of Mesa, Arizona.

Ninety boys and 42 girls from two countries and 14 states competed. Twenty-nine of the boys and seven of the girls finished at par or better. Stephanie Lau of Fullerton, CA and Jacob Solomon of Dublin, CA charged to the front of the field with 5-under 66 and 6-under 65, respectfully. Second-round leaders were Gordon Neale and KK Limbhasut, posting scores of 7-under 135. Stephanie Lau shot a 2-over 73 but maintained a one-stroke advantage over Muni He of Rancho Santa Fe, CA. A two-horse race ensued as Gordon and KK battled back and forth, all tied going into 18. Limbhasut had a great second shot that set up a birdie putt to seal the victory.

Stephanie Lau stumbled a bit, mid-round and lost her lead for the first time in the tournament. However, an eagle at the par-5 15th allowed her to regain the lead, which she would not relinquish.

Hannah O’Sullivan of Paradise Valley, AZ., finished second at 6-under-par 207. David Snyder, who plays out of Mirabel tied for sixth at 210.
