Girls Golf Day will tee off Saturday, September 23 with a full day of golf-related special activities and tournament at Papago Golf Course. In celebration of City of Phoenix’s official proclamation of September 23 as “Girls Golf Day,” the event is open to all girls age 5 or older (and families) for free from 9:30 AM to sunset.

“We are experiencing growth that hasn’t been seen in 11 years,” said Cori Matheson, Director of Girls Golf Phoenix. “We truly are changing the face of the game. With support from the LPGA, we encourage girls to dream big on, and off, the golf course.”

Surrounded by a festival atmosphere, complimentary attractions include group lessons, golf clinics, giveaways, games and special deals on merchandise and food.

Sara Brown – Arizona native, “The Big Break” participant and former Golf Channel contributor – will talk about her life in the game alongside a panel made up of representatives from Women with Drive and other local women’s golf leaders. The First Tee of Phoenix, local golf professionals, and instructors from Vision54, also will host a golf clinic.

Girls Golf Day will feature a competitive tournament. Girls Golf of Phoenix membership and tournament fees are required for participation.
