Raven at Verrado, so much more than just those famous mango towels

Tom Lehman and John Fought designed the Raven at Verrado, which opened in January 2004, and it was immediately recognized by Golf Magazine as “One of the Top 10 New Golf Courses in 2005”;  GolfWeek, 2005 “One of the Top 40 Golf Courses You Can Play”; and Golf Digest ranked it as the “Best Course in Phoenix - Power Ranking 2008”.

Tucked in the foothills of the White Tank Mountains stretching to more than 7,000 yards, offering jaw dropping views and rugged natural beauty, the Raven at Verrado is a great golf experience awaiting all levels of golfers. The Club has been known from the beginning as a terrific golf course, with exceptional service, outstanding course conditions, fantastic vistas of the Valley of the Sun and, of course, those famous Mango Towels.

Since opening, the Club has played host to thousands of golfers from around the world, whether traveling across the country, an ocean, town or just across the street, golfers love the Raven at Verrado, and make it a regular stop on their desert golf adventures. And, the Verrado Grille is the perfect place to relax and take in the Sunset!

For residents of the West Valley, who make the Raven Golf Club at Verrado their home course, it is the value of the membership that grabs you, offering memberships starting at just $2800 for single golfers, $4,000 for couples, and custom packages for families. All memberships include golf benefits, use of the practice facility and great discounts in the Verrado Grille and the Golf Shop. “There is no doubt the Raven at Verrado has the best membership deal in the West Valley,” said one Verrado member. The membership also includes the opportunity to take part in fun and competitive drop-in golf events and club activities. In addition to the long standing series of Senior and holiday events, the Raven is introducing a number of new programs and events designed to bring the game to new families, friends and players, in a friendly, fun and non- intimidating manner.

Junior programming is a high priority at the Raven, including clinics and junior activities as well as individual lessons. Many other events take place throughout the year and are open to all, including in 2010 the inaugural “Champions Challenge”, Verrado’s version of the Golf Channel’s “Big Break”, with a Grand Prize of a one year membership to the Raven Golf Club at Verrado.

To organize and run these great programs, PGA of America Professional, Jack LaRue has joined the Raven Team as Director of Instruction and Golf Programs. Jack brings more than 17 years experience as a PGA professional in the Phoenix area. Most recently, as the Head Golf Professional at Trilogy Golf Club at Vistancia, where he introduced many Junior, Ladies and Couples programs to the club and community.
