It’s that wonderful time of year when hot summer days are finally evolving into comfortably cooler days of fall.  And with the change of the season comes the excitement of getting out on the golf course again. With overseeding complete and winter residents returning from other states, courses all over Arizona are in great shape, enticing women to enjoy their beauty and experience for a day outdoors with their golfing friends.

It’s a well deserved tribute to women golfers to recognize their contributions to the game of golf in Arizona, not only economically but also in their ability to influence others to learn to play and reap the benefits of getting fit, meeting friends and discovering a new challenge. So, the Arizona Women’s Golf Association (AWGA) introduced “November is Arizona Women’s Golf Month” to highlight the importance of women golfers to our community and to convey the many ways the AWGA can serve women golfers.

The AWGA is the one-stop resource for women all over the state to get involved in the sport and stay updated on current events. From lessons for beginners to those who want to improve, the Ambassador Program is a starting point to meet your local LPGA/PGA professionals and get connected to the women who play golf in your area. For competitive golfers, there are AWGA tournaments throughout the year offering more experienced players a venue to test their skill with others of the same caliber. And, for those who are interested in the technical side of the game, there are diverse volunteer opportunities from becoming a Rules Official or Course Rater to assisting in running a state tournament.

If you’re new to Arizona or a current resident looking for a way to connect with other women, visit the AWGA website at www.awga.org or call the office at 602.253.5655 to find out what 25,000 AWGA members already know. The AWGA can bring a new dimension to your life and your golf game! Get involved now with one of the strongest and most active women’s golf associations in the nation. The AWGA is here to make your golf experience in Arizona the best it can be!
