Longbow Golf Club in Mesa is set to host the seventh annual Longbow Golf Fest on Saturday, January 29, 2011, beginning at 9 a.m. This family-oriented community golf event features a variety of golf-related activities geared towards juniors, novice and expert golfers alike.

Among the offerings, golfers will be able to test (and purchase at preferred prices) the latest equipment from major golf equipment manufacturers such as Titleist, Adams, PING, Cleveland Golf and others. New to the Longbow Golf Fest this year is the addition of the Titleist Fitting Van and complimentary ball fittings. Titleist Ball-Fitting Technicians will be on hand with a Trackman launch monitor to offer complimentary ball fittings to make sure golfers are playing the right ball for their game. The OB Sports Golf Academy’s instruction team of Jeff Fisher and Stacie Bryan will be on hand providing complimentary golf instruction throughout the day.

A raffle featuring great prizes (and benefiting junior golf) will be held throughout the day. Last year’s event raised much needed funds for area junior golf programs. Food and beverage specials will be offered including $1 hot dogs and $1 drafts. The Club will also sponsor a food drive benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank. Attendees simply donate a non-perishable food item and receive a 2-for-1 certificate for golf at Longbow Golf Club. At the 2010 Longbow Golf Fest over $1500 was raised for junior golf and hundreds of food items were donated to the St. Mary’s Food Bank.

“Golf Fest is hands down one of my favorite days of the year,” said Jay Larscheid, general manager for Longbow Golf Club. “It is so exciting to see golfers get better as a result of the instruction offered and the new club innovations. At the same time we get to introduce the game to new players and help out the community with the food donations. Longbow Golf Fest is certainly fun for the whole family.”

In addition, Backspin The Golf Show from Xtra Sports 910 will be broadcasting live from the Longbow Golf Fest (9am -11am) with hosts Bill Huffman, Corey La Russo and Rick Levy.
