Indians, Reds hosting celebrity charity golf tournament

Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds have announce celebrity charity golf classic Feb. 24 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear.

The Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds have announced a celebrity charity golf classic to take place Feb. 24 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear.

Proceeds from the spring training event will benefit the H.O.P.E. Team, a nonprofit organization that supports the patients and families at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Goodyear.

Indians and Reds current and former players - along with front office personnel, broadcasters and coaches - will participate in the golf classic, which will include sports memorabilia, raffle items and unique silent auctions and experiences. Cookin' on Wood will provide the post-round barbecue dinner.

Cost is $300 per person or $825 per threesome. Entry fee includes an event polo shirt and goodie bag along with green fees, bag handling, cart, range balls and the awards dinner.

The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with registration and golfers warm-up.

Sponsorship packages are also available, ranging from $250 to $5,000 for a title sponsor.
