The 2011 AWGA Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship was played on April 18-19 at Pueblo Del Sol Country Club and ended as a memorable event for the AWGA.

Experienced players, Kim Eaton and Christie Austin, emerged as Overall Winners, finishing the tournament an impressive eight strokes ahead of their closest competitors. These two women are skilled and focused golfers and consistent tournament winners. The two friends partnered to win the 2010 State Scotch Play Championship and Kim Eaton holds the title of State Seniors Champion for 2009 and 2010 and won the Season Opener in 2011.

Overall Net Winners went to partners, Beth Schmidt and Rhonda Hrdlicka, both new to Arizona golf. Their victory led to several “firsts” in the tournament.

This was the first time Beth and Rhonda played in an AWGA tournament and although they are both from Canada, they just met each other in Arizona last December. This is the first major win for both of them. This is the first time a member of a 9-hole group has captured the title of Overall Net Winner in the Four-Ball Championship.

The AWGA congratulates Overall Winners, Kim and Christie, and Overall Net Winners, Beth and Rhonda on their 2011 victories in the AWGA Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship.
