The Medal Play Golf Tour opens 4th season in November with new format and more growth

The Medal Play Golf Tour is ready to begin its 4th season in the Palm Springs, CA area, 2nd season in the Phoenix, AZ area and new tours in the San Diego, CA and Las Vegas, NV areas under the direction of veteran tour director, Blane Freytag.  The tour, which provides golf enthusiasts the experience of competitive stroke-play golf, will host a local schedule in each area that kicks off in November 2012 and will finish in September with the Tour Championship at Temecula Creek Inn in Temecula, CA. Players from all tours will compete for the title of Tour Champion in each division at this season ending event.

Tournament format is Gross Stroke Play for the better players and two handicapped divisions for the mid to high handicaps. Players choose the format that best suits their game.

“Now golf enthusiasts can play a tour just like the pros, without the travel,” added Freytag. “Our events are held locally on weekends, perfect for the average golfer. Our goal is to provide fun, fair, competitive individual stroke play golf tournaments. Everyone has an equal shot in our tournaments.” The Medal Play Golf Tour is for amateurs of all ages and abilities.

At each event, the top golfers in all divisions win Visa gift cards from the prize pool that is generated in each division. All participants also earn points toward season “Series Champion” and “Player of the Year” honors in their division.
