JGAA announces new Board of Directors

Arizona’s leading junior program, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona is taking their game to another level. Under the leadership of Executive Director, Scott McNevin, the JGAA announces its new Board of Directors to continue the forward momentum of the organization.

The Chairman of the Board, George Getz is no stranger to the community. Getz is the President of the Globe Corporation, a diversified investment company. He is also on the Executive Committee of the Arizona Diamondbacks and many other noteworthy organizations. Getz will be joined by seven other prominent Valley figures, including: Ron McPherson, President, Antigua; Chance Cozby, Vice President Sports Development, PING Golf; Alex Clark, Partner, B.D. Baker Company and Thunderbirds representative; Melissa Luellen, Head Coach, Arizona State University Women’s Golf; Hugh Smith, Exectuive Director, First Tee of Phoenix; Gregg Tryhus, President and Owner, Grayhawk Development and Phil Green, Chief Operating Officer, OB Sports Golf Management.

Additionally, the JGAA is introducing two new programs, the “Decisions I Made” speaker series and the Junior Golf Ambassador Program. The “speaker” series is a year-round educational program designed to inspire and educate youth and connect them with business leaders and athletes to share their stories, along with key moments in their career. Events will be made available to non-members.

The “Ambassador” program is the civic-minded arm of the JGAA that will teach kids the value of community contribution. This volunteer force of junior members is available to serve at charity and golf events.
