If you enjoy playing golf in the cool, high country’s fresh air and have been considering membership in a private golf club, then you need to look into Aspen Valley Golf Club. The golf club is known by many as “Aspen” and is tucked away in the heart of Flagstaff and a true golfing community. Aspen is the oldest private club in Flagstaff and offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of an equity based private club with no purchase of real estate required.

The Club is nestled in the Ponderosa pines of Flagstaff with panoramic views of the San Francisco Peaks making this picturesque setting a perfect complement to your golf game. Temperatures in northern Arizona average around 20 degrees cooler than the valley all summer long. The traditional 18 hole championship golf course is designed around the Rio De Flag, with ponds, lakes, and spectacular mountain views.

Aspen is an active club with a wide variety of social and competitive events, and was recently upgraded with a major investment in the back nine, addition of a short game practice area and a redo of all the sand bunkers. The well designed and appointed pro shop outfits your every golfing need, from clubs to clothing.

Golfers, who are members of private country clubs in the Phoenix/Tucson areas, have discovered Aspen to be a funfilled, summer private golf club retreat. For those with dual memberships, when they aren’t in the high country playing at Aspen, they’re playing their winter golf at private clubs such as: Arizona Country Club, Arrowhead Country Club, Camelback Country Club, Moon Valley Country Club, Paradise Valley Country Club, Phoenix Country Club, Troon Country Club and Tucson Country Club, to name a few. These dual members state that they picked Aspen because of the value, condition of the course, the club’s bar and grill plus they do not have to pay duplicate country club dues that they already have at their home club.

Aspen is a small, friendly club with only 400 memberships. The Club’s bar and grill is highly respected in Flagstaff and the golf course provides an exceptional high country experience. The course is a fair track for the weekend social golfer as well as a terrific set up for a serious tournament test. Players can choose from five sets of tees with forward tees measuring 5371 yards (71.7/128) and the back tees stretching out to just under 6900 yards (72.5/135). The standard white tees are 6430yards (70.5/129).

Should the aforementioned not be enough motivation to join, then the financial status of the Club should seal the deal. With the struggling economy causing difficulty for many golf clubs, Aspen has done well during these tough times. The Club remains debt free, maintains a solid cash reserve and remains an equity based membership. Aspen’s current annual dues start at just over $2,000 with no monthly minimums. Members are required to spend a minimum of $250 in the bar and grill, while the Club is open for business between April 1st and mid-November. To join Aspen Valley Golf Club, the initiation fee is only $12,500.

Simply put, Aspen is the place to play golf (no high priced fancy country club amenities) and also provides a comfortable bar and grill to socialize, along with an exceptional staff to ensure excellent service and offer palette pleasing food and beverage choices. Aspen is a laid back, friendly and comfortable private golf club.

In addition to Aspen members having an enjoyable golfing opportunity, the membership supports local organizations. During the shoulder seasons, the Club hosts approximately four benefit tournaments. These tournaments have low impact on the membership and provide the outside organizations a way to raise money for their respective budgets. Bi-annually, Aspen holds their own fund-raiser and a local organization is selected as a beneficiary. The bi-annual event raises approximately $30,000 per event and over the years, Aspen Valley has donated over $300,000. The Club does not stop at helping raise money for the various organizations, it also supports the local high schools and Northern Arizona University. Aspen allows the schools practice time, high school 9 hole golf matches, 18 hole tournaments and college level tournaments.
